SCOPE | The scope of the project was a top to bottom build of a traditional California Craftsman in Pasadena. Rollins Andrews Interiors was in charge of creating a relaxed and calming environment in keeping with the Craftsman style architecture but with a modern take on it.

PALETTE |   Blues and greens brought levity to each room, while warm walnut wood grounded the project in classic charm. The show-stopping living room is highlighted by a gorgeous fireplace surrounded by ceramic tiles by local Pasadena craftsmen. One of our favorite features is the upstairs landing and the custom Judson Studios stained glass window. The warm glow reflected in the space can be appreciated at all times of the day.

.LIGHTING |   The lighting is a sophisticated mix of Craftsman inspired wrought iron with opal glass and more contemporary pieces such as the pendants in the kitchen. A few antique pieces found by the client are interspersed throughout the home.

WALLCOVERINGS |  The addition of wallpaper in a few of the rooms brings added texture and color with a nod to William Morris in the powder room, whose textiles were so prevalent in the Arts and Crafts movement.

FABRICS | Keeping it light and airy, Emily kept fabrics simple and fresh at the windows by using sheers and woven shades.

STONE | Stone selection for this project was a multi-day process, venturing from stone yard to stone yard to find the perfect slabs. The end result is a beautiful mix of colors inspired by the California landscapes.
